The tax code is broken for all Americans. For the past thirty years America has fallen behind as the rest of the world has aggressively modernized their tax systems. Because of our outdated tax code, America is no longer the best place in the world to do business. Additionally, our families spend far too much money and time complying with the tax code. It is time for change.
As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I have worked for the past seven years on tax reform. By reforming our tax code, we will set up a system that puts more money in American’s pockets and makes the business environment one of the best in the world. This is why I support the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which will deliver a $1,600 tax cut to a typical family in our region, as well as establish a competitive small business and international business environment.
