Tom Reed applauds today’s passage of next year’s House Energy and Water Appropriations Bill, which provides $61.6 million in funding to support cleanup efforts at the West Valley Demonstration Project. This is a $2.5 million increase in funding above last year’s level of $59.2 million.
“We care about protecting the people that live in and around West Valley, as well as our entire region. There is still a long way to go in this funding process, but this is a great first step. This funding stems from our collaborative efforts with the community and the Citizen Task Force. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of so many during this process and would encourage them to continue pressing toward our goal. Its only right that we continue to work together to get this funding signed into law and to the people that need it,” said Reed.
The bill cleared the House Appropriations committee unanimously.
