Tom Reed announces the Rushville Hose Company will be awarded a federal grant through the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to replace outdated safety equipment. “We care about those who put themselves in harm’s way for our benefit, especially our fire fighters and emergency services personnel,” said Reed. “These individuals devote their lives to protecting us and it is only right we give them the resources they need to keep themselves safe in that process.”
The Rushville Hose Company will receive an $86,667 grant that will be used for equipment upgrades, including new self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) air packs, masks and air tanks.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant which will be used to replace outdated SCBA equipment which will allow the department to operate in a safer way,” Jim Santee of Rushville Hose Company. “Our department thanks Congressman Reed for his continued support.”
