Tom Reed applauds the disbursement of grant funding to Randolph Regional EMS Corporation in Cattaraugus County. The grant was awarded through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG).

“I care deeply that individuals throughout our region have dependable and reliable EMS services. This grant aides in making sure our rural communities have the equipment they need for emergency services,” said Reed.

Randolph Regional EMS Corporation received a $65,239 award for operations and safety. They plan to use the funds to purchase a power loader (a one-touch system that alleviates lifting for patients on stretchers), portable radios to support the new emergency radio system in Cattaraugus County, and an automated chest compressor for cardiac patients.

"We're an EMS corporation in a small, rural area and unable to rely on financial support from the community. This grant allows us to purchase equipment that will improve our communication, emergency capabilities, and safety," said David Senn, President, Randolph Regional EMS Corporation.

This program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
