Reed Announces FY17 Funding Highlights
Today, details of the Fiscal Year 2017 funding bill were announced. Throughout the process, Congressman Reed has been an active voice in preserving the funding for initiatives that help individuals throughout New York’s 23rd District.
“It is important to care about prioritizing programs that directly enhance the lives of individuals across our region,” Reed stated. “We worked in a bipartisan manner to create a fair approach to spending.”
The bill includes full funding through the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2017. The clean spending bill is supported by members of both parties and avoids the possibility of a government shutdown.
“Funding for programs such as the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, Appalachian Regional Commission, and the Community Development Block Grant were important programs that I worked closely with the White House as well as House leadership to preserve,” Reed added.
