Today, Rep. Tom Reed recognized the importance his office puts on helping people in our community with the difficult and confusing aspects of the federal government..

Tom highlighted a recent case where he and his staff were able to work with the State Department to ensure Elnaz Bakhshi, an Iranian nationalist, received permission to come to the United States from dangerous Iran to join Ahad Javansalehi, her American husband, in Ithaca.

“We care about helping people in our community and want to ensure fair treatment for our neighbors,” Tom said. “Our office cuts through the bureaucratic red tape to help people with the most frustrating parts of the federal government. Do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can be of help with.”

Tom and his staff have helped people with 13,000 individual cases since taking office and 1,000 cases this year.

People can reach out for assistance in areas including:

  • Social Security
  • Medicare
  • IRS
  • Immigration Issues
  • Veteran's issues
  • Passports
