Rep. Tom Reed announced a $75,000 grant to the Community Care Network of Nichols (CCNN) for the CCNN Satellites Volunteer Transportation Program.
“The expansion of transportation services in Owego and Waverly are needed and will give our neighbors a fair chance at making their medical appointments on time and shopping at our small businesses easier,” Tom said. “We care about those who rely on public transportation and thank Community Care Network of Nichols for bridging the gap in Tioga county.”
The grant will develop expansion services for two additional volunteer transportation satellites to serve Owego and Waverly communities. The services will partner with Tioga County Rural Economic Area Partnership (REAP), Tioga Opportunities, Inc., Tioga County Community Action Partnerships and businesses.
"Community Care Network of Nichols (CCNN) partnering with Tioga Opportunities, Inc. (TOI) will build capacity and develop partnerships in Waverly and Owego, NY through the utilization of a volunteer transportation model that assists Tioga County’s elderly and residents with disabilities to age in place while accessing services and supporting local businesses," Executive Director of Community Care Network of Nichols, Dorothy Richter said.
