Tom Reed continued his efforts to bring quality, family sustaining jobs to our region by hosting a regional manufacturing summit in Corning. “We care about creating quality, family sustaining jobs across our region. It’s only right that we make every effort to encourage our manufacturers to create those jobs right here in the U.S. and this summit is an opportunity to assist in that process.”

The day-long, event will bring together over 100 manufacturers from across the Twin Tiers, Western New York including Buffalo, and the Finger Lakes. Attendees will hear from policy experts, economic development agencies and lawmakers about opportunities that are available to U.S. manufacturers. They will also be given the opportunity to meet with area organizations that can help expand production and enjoy networking opportunities.

The summit is the latest of Reed’s effort to champion U.S. manufacturing. As co-chair of the House Manufacturing caucus and sponsor of the bipartisan, Revitalizing American Manufacturing and Innovation Act, Reed has made job creation his top priority throughout the area. Reed’s act brought the new Photonics Institute to Western New York and over $600 million in investment to our region.

The event will be lived streamed on Reed’s facebook page, www.facebook.com/RepTomReed.

This is the second summit Reed has sponsored. The 2015 summit was held in Jamestown.
