Reed Delivers Grant for Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc.
Today, Rep. Tom Reed announced a $61,703 grant to provide the Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. with funding to assist homeless people.
“Cattaraugus Community Action is an agency that continuously supports and lifts up the people who need it most – those who are homeless and survivors of domestic abuse," Tom said. "We are proud to stand with them in this effort and support their ongoing success in this arena.”
“We are pleased to be able to continue to provide valuable housing services to the homeless population in Cattaraugus County via Jefferson House Apartments and the Housing Options Made Easy Permanent Supported Housing Program,” said Jodi Fulller, COO for Transitional Services at Cattaraugus Community Action. “Both programs provide safe affordable housing coupled with supportive case management services to formerly homeless households. Combined, these programs help dozens of families stabilize housing and avoid repeated episodes on homelessness.
We are especially pleased that our Continuum of Care was selected to receive special funding to assist victims of domestic violence. Financial issues are often a huge barrier to escaping family violence. We will now offer rapid rehousing financial assistance to our safe dwelling residents to assist in finding and maintaining housing and moving toward a life free of violence.”Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit organization incorporated in New York State in June of 1965. Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. partners with the community to provide strengths-based opportunities for vulnerable people to achieve economic, physical, and emotional security.
