Winter is coming...

Dear Neighbor,

The extreme policies coming from Albany are once again putting the public at risk.

We all know about Governor Cuomo’s decision to ban fracking, but he has also banned a natural gas pipeline over “environmental concerns”.

That decision had devastating results last week when the driver of a truck carrying compressed natural gas died in a crash along the “virtual pipeline route,” right in our backyard in Binghamton. The accident forced the evacuation of dozens of nearby homes as a safety precaution.

This “virtual pipeline” carries gas from Pennsylvania to a compressor station in Herkimer County which is roughly the same route where the proposed Constitution pipeline would have been installed.

The Cuomo administration blocked this proposal in 2016 to please the “keep it in the ground” extremists.

Due to this extreme thinking, the market has found an unsafe and expensive alternative to get fuel delivered.

We know hardworking people in the Southern Tier could use the jobs building a pipeline and grow our economy, but this lack of pipeline has devastating results downstate.

Remember when we had to buy Russian natural gas drilled from the arctic two winters ago?

We need to get back to common sense governing and stand up to bullies who only think about themselves.

Until next time,
