Rep. Tom Reed issued the following statement:

We stand with all those who want to move our country forward in a positive manner and address the issue of racism in this country head-on. This includes the thousands of peaceful protestors calling for justice, the incredible law enforcement officers who are empathetically engaging with the community, and local leaders. We stand with you all. 

We are here for you and ready to work with you on ways to increase dialogue, support community policing, and build productive cultural change. Our door is wide open 24/7. 

We won’t be able to make progress on these issues, however, until we restore order, end the rioting, and stop the divisive political rhetoric. 

As leaders, we should be focusing on what united us, not what divides us. We will choose to lead with love and demonstrate empathy for one another because that is what will get us through this moment.
