Tom Reed Announces Owego FEMA Funding
Congressman Tom Reed praised the Owego Apalachin School District’s FEMA grant of $5,774,749 for damage relating to Tropical Storm Lee. 2011’s Lee caused widespread damage throughout the Southern Tier of New York.
Congressman Reed released the following statement:
“Owego and many other communities in the Southern Tier faced devastating flooding due to Tropical Storm Lee. While much progress has been made to repair the damage those storms had on our communities, still more needs to be done. That is why I am pleased to announce a FEMA grant for the Owego Apalachin School District. I care deeply about ensuring that Owego and other communities affect by storms receive fair disaster support. This federal help will allow the Owego Apalachin School District to repair their damaged district administration building and come closer to finally closing the door on that chapter in their history.”
